New England Orthopedic Society

Established in 1958, the New England Orthopaedic Society (NEOS) was created to promote sharing of ideas and camaraderie amongst the Orthopaedic Surgeons of the region while bringing world-renowned Orthopaedic experts to interact directly with the membership at the Fall and Spring annual meetings. NEOS continues to provide those same attributes today.

The meetings are also an opportunity for the region’s Students, Residents and Fellows to submit and present their original research. At both the Spring and Autumn Meetings, the best three papers receive the coveted Kilfoyle Award, named after the Founder of the Society.

Acknowledging the interest and involvement of orthopedic colleagues in the state of New York in the Society, all categories of membership shall be open to those who live and practice in that state in addition to the core New England states as originally set in the By-Laws.

Membership to the NEOS includes free registration to both our Spring and Fall meetings that include continuing medical education (12 CME on average per program), networking opportunities and access to the member’s only portion of our website.

Categories

• Physician membership is open to qualified actively practicing orthopaedic surgeons who are members, or candidates for membership, of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Physician membership is only $350 annually.
• Associate membership is only $150 annually and is open to all Advanced Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Certified Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists and Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants. 
• Resident or Fellow membership is open to all physicians licensed to practice medicine in any of the New England states and who are currently in training in an accredited Residency or Fellowship program.
• Medical Student membership is open to students actively enrolled in medical school with an interest in orthopedics. Applications must include the name of the Dean or Medical School Director.
